A former Auchinleck Talbot player and Beechwood Park legend has called time on his playing career.

Graham Wilson joined Tommy Sloan's side from arch-rivals Cumnock in 2012, and has gone on to win all there is.

Among the many highs of Wilson's time at the club was the goal he scored when Talbot beat Championship side Hamilton Accies 1-0 in the Scottish Cup in November 2021.

Wilson's Talbot honours list includes five Scottish Junior Cup winner's medals - including the 2018 final against Hurlford, in which he scored Talbot's injury-time leveller before Craig McCracken went on to net a last-gasp winner as Sloan's men won 3-2.

He left Beechwood Park last summer and went on to join fellow East Ayrshire outfit Darvel.

There, he enjoyed further success, and recently netted both of Darvel's goals in their 2-1 Scottish Junior Cup final win over Arthurlie in June.

Darvel confirmed that Wilson will retire to focus on work and family life.

They added: "We wish the man who scored the goals to bring the Scottish Junior Cup Doon The Brae, all the very best for the future!"
