Mauchline Football Club has been donated a defibrillator machine thanks to an East Ayrshire Council initiative.
The scheme, devised by the council’s Health and Safety Service and Procurement, encourages local contractors to donate life-saving equipment for distribution within the communities where they are undertaking work.
Lifesaving defibrillators can now be found in more than 30 towns and villages across East Ayrshire, including Cumnock, Auchinleck, Drongan, Mauchline and Catrine.
The equipment was donated to the football club by PDM Huws Gray Group.
The machine will be a welcomed addition to the town, ahead of next season's football campaign, as Mauchline's teams look to build on a successful year.
Mauchline United won the Division Two title, and the town's 2010 team claimed the North Ayrshire Soccer Association title.
A new team in Mauchline United 2009s will also take to the field for the town next season.
Applications are welcomed from any community groups and clubs based in East Ayrshire who would like to benefit from this equipment.
Further details on how the initiative works and how to apply can be found on the East Ayrshire Council website including a fill list of locations of current defibrillators in East Ayrshire, how to register your defibrillator and information on how to use and maintain the equipment.
