An empty Cumnock bank building could be sold after an offer was received by the council.
Previously serving as the town's Royal Bank of Scotland building, the branch was initially put up for sale by East Ayrshire Council last May.
The local authority, which owns the building, decided to put the building on the market to guard against any further expenditure on the property.
Money was ploughed into the building to fix the deteriorating roof, with council bosses hoping that building would have been occupied, had it not been for issues brought on by the pandemic.
With the building said to be under offer, EAC confirmed earlier this year that an offer on the former bank had fallen through and it would be placed back on the market with a valuation in excess of £75,000.
East Ayrshire Council has now confirmed that an offer for the building has been accepted, and staff are working to conclude the sale.
David Mitchell, the local authority's head of governance, said: "We can confirm that the property was remarketed, and following a closing date an offer was received which has been accepted.
"We are now working to conclude the sale."
