Mauchline Primary School and Early Childhood Centre (ECC) has been forced to close today.
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms was in place for late into Tuesday, May 28, with heavy rain continuing through the night.
Some streets have suffered the effects of drainage issues as a result of the heavy rain.
Mauchline primary and ECC has also felt the effect, as flash flooding has caused havoc with flooding, meaning they will be closed today (May 29).
East Ayrshire Council says an update will be issued to parents and carers later today for the remainder of the week.
