The victim of a fatal crash on the A76 on Monday night (May 20) has been named.
Tony Currie, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene of the single vehicle crash which happened around 6.55pm on Monday.
A section of the A76 near Crosshands had been closed for around eight hours, between 7pm and 3am while emergency services attended the scene.
The incident involved a blue Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle.
Police say that enquiries into the full circumstances remain ongoing.
Road Policing Sergeant Martin Cunningham said: “Our thoughts are with Tony’s family and friends as they try to come to terms with what has happened. We’ll continue to keep them updated as our investigation progresses.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far. I’d still like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage which may assist us.”
