A main road near Auchinleck will be closed this weekend as the second phase of resurfacing work takes place.

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, which carries out road work on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, will carry out the work on the Barony Road.

The road had been closed last weekend, to allow a length of around 700 metres of road to be resurfaced.

A second phase will be completed this coming weekend, with closures in place in both directions.

No further closures of the road are currently planned.

The road is set to be closed from 8am to 8pm on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5.

An alternative route will be signed via:

  • B7036 Barony Road turning left on to C62 Pennylands Road
  • Turning left on to B7083 Mauchline Road
  • Take the first exit from Templeton Roundabout on to A76 to Dettingen Roundabout
  • Take the third exit on to A70 towards Ochiltree before re-joining the B7036 and vice versa.
