An Auchinleck pensioner has denied historical charges of lewd and libidinous behaviour towards two girls aged as young as seven and nine.
William McComb, 74, faces three charges dating back to the 1970s and 1980s.
The alleged offences took place in Auchinleck, Logan, Cumnock and Lanark.
At Ayr Sheriff Court last week, a defence agent for Mr McComb said his client was pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He is accused of using lewd, indecent or libidinous practices and behaviour towards one girl when she was aged between 9 and 12, from 1971 to 1973.
It is alleged he touched her on the body and performed a sex act in her presence.
The charges against the second girl took place between 1978 and 1986, when the child was aged between seven and 14.
It is claimed he used lewd, indecent or libidinous practices and behaviour towards her, tickling her and exposing himself and compelling her to perform a sex act.
The court was told the case was progressing but there was an issue with the fitness of witnesses to appear in court for the trial
The case was continued to a further hearing in May and McComb's bail was continued.
