Plans for a wind farm near Skares have been withdrawn...two years after being given approval.
An application for nine turbines at Polquhairn was granted in 2022, though the first planning application for a wind farm at the site was lodged back in November 2014.
That proposal would have had nine 100m turbines, which could generate 22.5MW of electricity and have a generating life of 30 years

The revised plans, as approved by East Ayrshire Council’s planning committee, would have featured one 145m turbine, with five at 125m and three at less than 120m.
The proposed development was to be located approximately seven kilometres north-east of Patna, 11 km to the south-west of Cumnock, and south of Sinclairston.
Glasgow Prestwick Airport and National Air Traffic Services had both lodged objections, and it now looks like the plans will not go ahead, at least for the time being.
