Locals in Sanquhar lined the streets last week to surprise two butcher brothers who were retiring.
John and William Forsyth took over the Forsyth's butchers which had been in the family since 1936.
The brothers have amassed over 100 years of services in the business, becoming familiar and well-known faces in the community.
As a surprise for their last day, residents lined the streets to cheer on the pair and give them a huge round of applause for all the work they have done through the years.
John and William were taken aback by turnout and the welcome, as they get ready to hang up their meat cleavers for one last time.
