A problem road in Sorn is set to be closed for resurfacing work to take place.
Main Street will be closed off at the beginning of May to allow resurfacing, anti-skid, and white lining work to take place.
The street has often been scrutinised by locals for the condition of the road, the accompanying wall, and the way in which drivers "disobey" the rules of the road.
One local resident said: "The road has been an issue for a long time.
"Usually it's to do with people crashing into the wall or disobeying the rules of the road, so to see some kind of solution is promising.
"Maybe relaying the road might solve some of these issues and keep people in the area safe, but I won't be holding my breath.
"It seemed like every week or so there was a crash on that road at one point, so hopefully this stops anything more serious happening."
A closure of the road will be in force from 8am on Saturday, May 4 until 6pm on Sunday, May 5.
A diversion will be in place via the B743 to Mauchline, along the A76, the B713 through Catrine and into Sorn, and vice versa.
