A man has been arrested after a quantity of drugs was discovered at an address in Auchinleck this week.
Locals spotted police in attendance at the old Peden Church on Back Rogerton Crescent on Tuesday morning (April 9).
The entrance to the church's driveway was then taped off by police.
Police Scotland confirmed that cannabis was recovered, leading to the arrest of a 28-year-old man.
The former church had been placed for sale in 2022, having also been used as a function hall for school and birthday parties.
A police spokesperson said: "Around 9.50am on Tuesday, 9 April 2024, officers searched a property in Back Rogerton Crescent under warrant.
"A quantity of cannabis was recovered and a 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the recovery.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
Officers remained at the scene yesterday evening.
