Plans to demolish a historic cottage in New Cumnock have been withdrawn.
A planning application was lodged with East Ayrshire Council (EAC) in January seeking permission to to tear down Afton Cottage, on Pathbrae, opposite New Cumnock railway station.
The proposals were lodged by agent Robert Jack on behalf of applicant Tony Lee, of Avalon Homes (Scotland) Ltd, based in Lesmahagow, South Lanarkshire.
In its place, it was proposed that a new five-bedroom, two-storey house be built.

The cottage is said to date back centuries, but has been empty for several years, and was listed for sale in 2023.
The proposals for the new home included three bathrooms, a kitchen/dining area, a utility room and a living room, as well as garage facilities.
The former cottage once had seven bedrooms.

A separate garage space had also been earmarked for creation, as well as space for two more parking spaces.
A document published on EAC's website this week, states that the submission has been withdrawn at the request of the applicant.
It's not yet known whether new plans will be submitted in a revised form.
