A busy road near Dalmellington is set to be closed to all traffic for two days in April.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA), which carries out work on behalf of East and South Ayrshire Councils, says it will close a section the B741 between Dalmellington and Straiton to allow BT work to be carried out.
The closure will be in place at a section of the road near Straiton, on either side of the border separating East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire.
Work is expected to last from 9.30am on Monday, April 22 until 3.30pm on Wednesday, April 24.
Outwith those hours the road will remain fully open.
ARA says the days and times of the works may depend on the weather conditions, but that the closure order for the road will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Diversion signs will direct westbound traffic on to the A713 to Hollybush, the B7034 to Dalrymple, the B742 and B7045 to Kirkmichael, and continuing on the B7045 to Straiton to rejoin the B741.
Eastbound traffic will be directed to the same route in reverse.
