An update has been provided on when demolition of the former Greenmill primary in Cumnock could begin.
Earlier this year, officials from East Ayrshire Council (EAC) decided to demolish the former school building on Barrhill Road.
The building, which was last used as a temporary home for Netherthird Primary, has lain empty and increasingly derelict since the new Netherthird facility in Craigens Road was opened in February last year.

A cabinet meeting in April 2023 heard that the building could be demolished, if a buyer wasn't found for the property.
A report for February 14 then said "there is a £1m allocated in the Capital Programme to facilities the demolition costs of Auchinleck Academy and Greenmill primary school."
EAC confirmed that "demolition work will be completed in early 2025."
However, now a further update has been given which says that work to bring the building down could begin in the middle of this year.
A Property Management Plan (PMP) progress report to the council's cabinet states: "Following the property ceasing to be used as decant accommodation, Cabinet as part of PMP on April 19, 2023 agreed to declare it surplus to requirements and market it for sale in current condition, failing which to demolish the building and market the site for sale.
"Following the closing date, no offers were received, therefore the demolition is now being progressed.
"Pre-demolition works are ongoing and utility disconnections are complete.
"Demolition is estimated to start mid 2024."
