PEOPLE in Cumnock are being urged to give their support to a group from a local youth project as they prepare to tackle this year’s Kiltwalk.
Staff from Yipworld in Cumnock are taking part in the ‘Mighty Stride’ from Glasgow to Loch Lomond on Sunday, April 28 to raise money to support the organisation’s work with local young people and their families.
All the money raised will go towards buying resources for the project and running services in the area at minimal charge to those who use Yipworld’s services.
The project’s founder, Janice Hendry, said: “I am taking on the Mighty Stride Kilt Walk to raise funds for my beloved Yipworld.
“Many of you know I am founder of this amazing organisation and we want to continue to support children, young people and their families from all over the south of East Ayrshire.
“Our services are either free or a small cost so the more money we can raise the better.”
Janice, who will be joined by her colleagues Yvonne, Robbie, Ross, Morgan, Skye and Stephanie, has set up an online fundraiser at JustGiving.com with an initial target of £500.
