A consultation has been launched regarding plans for new speed limits to be introduced in Drongan.
We reported on the plans when they were initially brought forward in November 2023.
Proposals would see the National Speed Limit sign between the A70 and B730 junction will be removed and replaced with a 40mph sign.
Currently, the B730 road between Coalhall and the village is a 'national speed limit' road where a maximum of 60 miles per hour applies.
Existing speed limit countdown markers to 30mph as you enter Drongan will also be removed and will be replaced with new countdown marker signage and posts.
No official date has yet been set for when the change would come into effect.
However, a public consultation has been launched on the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website, allowing locals to have their say on plans.
A reasoning online states that the aim for bringing in the change is "for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising".
The consultation will be open for comments until Wednesday March 6.
