Plans have been submitted to East Ayrshire Council (EAC) to host a catering truck on a layby in Muirkirk.
William McCutcheon of B&K Catering, is seeking permission to locate the trailer at Muirkirk Heritage layby, just off of the A70 Smallburn Road.
An official application was sent to the local authority at the start of the year, with an outcome expected by April, according to the EAC website.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, which deals with roads issues on behalf of EAC, had no objections to the proposals.

Feedback from EAC's environmental health team says that if the application is approved, the business's hours of operation should be limited to 8am-7pm Monday to Friday and 9am-1pm Saturdays and Sundays, in order to preserve the residential amenity of nearby properties.
The environmental health team's submission adds: "The premises will require to be registered with this office as a food business.
"It is noted, however, that a catering unit is at the location and trading at the time of submitting this response."
