A thoughtful Dalmellington man has braved the shave to raise money for a cancer charity.
After a year of no beard shaving, Jim Murphy decided to take the leap and have his beard shaved off to raise money for charity.
After nominating Ayrshire Cancer Support as his charity of choice, Jim has now raised a magnificent £1,205.
Jim is extremely grateful for all the support he's received during his challenge.
He said: "Ayrshire Cancer Support is a local charity which helps local people.
"The funds raised will go back into the amazing services they offer.
"I would like to thank Jean Barclay for taking the photographs, Joanne Fleming from Classic Cuts for the shave and, of course, everyone who made a donation to support – every one of them is greatly appreciated.”
Carol-Anne Lamont, of Ayrshire Cancer Support, added: "This was a great fundraising effort organised by Jim and Marny within their community.
"I know they are truly humbled by the generosity of those who supported Jim's sponsored shave. I would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported Jim.
"Support in this way helps continue to provide much needed free services to children, young people and adults affected by cancer throughout Ayrshire."
