A local MSP has thrown her weight behind a group looking to save Auchinleck Leisure Centre.
South Scotland MSP Carol Mochan said she was "very impressed" by Auchinleck Leisure Community Committee's (ALCC) efforts to keep the centre open.
The centre was originally due to close completely by the end of November under plans announced by East Ayrshire Council (EAC), but that was then pushed back until January, and then further again until March.

ALCC was set up in the aftermath of EAC's decision to close the facility, originally announced back in October.
Since then, ALCC has been campaigning to have the decision reversed - including launching legal action against East Ayrshire Council.
MSP Mochan said she is happy to continue supporting the committee's cause.

The Labour representative added: “I recently met with the ALCC and was very impressed by their determination and resolve to find a solution that protects Auchinleck and the surrounding area.
"These are hard-working local people who have grown tired of the constant cuts to services and facilities, a feeling most people I meet share.
“I have offered the committee my support and whilst I respect the fact all councils have tough decisions to make, this one seems particularly short-sighted.
"The committee have made it clear to me they intend to push their campaign on and I hope that this will spur the council to revisit such a damaging decision."
