A section of the A70 in Ochiltree is set to be closed for two days next month for work to be carried out.
The busy road, which is a popular route for those driving between Cumnock and Ayr, is set to be shut off to allow white lining and anti-skid work to take place.
Burnock Road, close to the junction with Mill Street and Mauchline Road, is set to be closed for the work.
According to the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website, which carries out work on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, the road is expected to be closed from 8am on Saturday, February 3 until 5pm on Sunday, February 4.
The notice says that the days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
A diversion will be in place via the A70 towards Cumnock, A76 to Auchinleck, C62 and then the B7036 towards Ochiltree, and vice versa.
