POLICE have launched an investigation into an allegation of assault following an incident near a busy Ayrshire roundabout at the weekend.

A woman is alleged to have been approached by individuals who stopped in a van between the Crossroads roundabout and the Bowhouse roundabout on the A76.

Police say the incident happened at around 1pm on Saturday, December 23, and that enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.05pm on Saturday, 23 December, 2023, officers received a report of an assault by the A76, Kilmarnock."
