East Ayrshire Council has revealed its altered bin collection days over the festive holidays.
Bins due to be collected on December 22, 27, 28 and 29, and on January 3, will all operate as normal.
Bins due for collection on Monday, December 25 will be collected on Saturday, December 23.
Bins due for collection on Tuesday, December 26 will be collected on Sunday, December 24.
Bins due for collection on Monday, January 1 will be collected on Saturday, December 30.
Finally, bins due for collection on Tuesday, January 2 will be collected on Sunday, December 31.
As collection times vary during the festive season, containers should be presented for collection the night before uplift or by 6:30am.
Should the recycling trolley not be presented in time, materials should be stored until the next week, or taken to the nearest recycling centre or recycling point.
Up to three additional refuse sacks will be uplifted per household on the first landfill waste collection (green/grey bin) following Christmas Day.
Excess paper and cardboard stored in plastic sacks and placed beside your recycling trolley will be collected, as will larger flat packed cardboard.
Use your red and black boxes for excess glass, plastics and cans. If you don’t have a box, bagged plastics and cans can be placed alongside the recycling trolley for uplift.
As there are no garden waste collections until March 2024, real Christmas trees can be taken to recycling centres.
