THE countdown to Christmas is well and truly on in the Doon Valley - as these pictures from two of Dalmellington's most popular annual events show.
First on the calendar this year was the annual Dalmellington Christmas Fayre, featuring carol singing by local primary pupils, raffles, refreshments and a chance to meet Santa in his grotto - as well as plenty of stalls giving those who came along the chance to get their Christmas shopping off to a great local start.
The Dalmellington Community Centre was the venue for both the Christmas Fayre and then, a week later, for the area's annual pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, staged by M&M Theatrical Productions of Ayr, with local Cubs and Scouts joining parents and other family members and friends for a memorable show.
Both the fayre and the pantomime were organised by the Dalmellington Community Association, whose busy programme of festive season events continued on Saturday, December 9 with the annual Christmas party for the area's older residents.
