A Catrine man has denied attacking a woman’s house with a hammer, just months after allegedly threatening to kill her at the local bowling club.
Marc McCulloch, 34, pleaded not guilty to three charges when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.
McCulloch, of Somerville Street, is charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing at the bowling club in July 2022.
He is also charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner to the same woman in Catrine on February 11, 2023.
He is accused of turning up at her home with a hammer, repeatedly striking a door with it, smashing windows with it then pursuing the woman down the street, while still in possession of the weapon.
He has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
McCulloch maintained his pleas of not guilty to all the charges and a trial date was set for the new year.
