A popular East Ayrshire café has become the most recent addition to the area's network of life-saving defibrillators.
The Ayrshire Food Hub is the latest venue to benefit from a scheme organised by East Ayrshire Council to roll out publicly-accessible defibrillators around local communities.
The vital kit can be used to provide treatment in the event of someone suffering a sudden cardiac arrest until emergency services are able to reach an incident.

This unique initiative, devised by the council’s health and safety service and procurement teams, encourages local contractors to donate life-saving equipment for distribution within the communities where they are undertaking work, as part of their obligations to provide wider local community benefits during the life of their contract with the council.
Councillors Claire Leitch, Linda Holland and William Lennox, representing the Ballochmyle ward, where the Ayrshire Food Hub is located, went along to the eatery - which also sells food and drink from dozens of Ayrshire producers in its accompanying farm shop - to hand over the new machine.
Applications are welcomed from any community groups and clubs based in East Ayrshire who would like to benefit from this equipment.
Further details on how the initiative works and how to apply can be found on the East Ayrshire Council website - including a fill list of locations of current defibrillators in East Ayrshire, how to register your defibrillator and information on how to use and maintain the equipment.
