A house in Cumnock was broken in to last night, as locals were told to keep an eye out on their gardens.
The break-in happened on McQueen Avenue at around 7.30pm on Thursday, October 12.
Police attended the home and officers say that enquiries are ongoing regarding the incident.
Locals had shared CCTV images of what appeared to be a man entering people's gardens and allegedly looking into people's windows in the nearby streets of Car Road and Hall Terrace.
It's not known if these are linked, but a warning was posted on Facebook for people to keep an eye out.
Police Scotland have information on their website about how to try and keep your house safe.
These include keeping your doors and windows locked at all times, don’t leave keys on the inside of door locks, under mats or anywhere else they can be easily found and don’t keep house keys and car keys on the same key ring.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 7.40pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023, we were called to a report of a break-in at a property on McQueen Avenue, Cumnock.
“Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing.”
