A homebuilder is keeping children across East Ayrshire visible on their walk to and from school this month.
Mille Homes is helping out by donating high-vis vests as part of its Home Safe initiative.
Families across East Ayrshire are now invited along to collect high-vis vests from Miller Homes’ Evergreen Manor development.
The initiative marks Walk to School Month this October, which challenges children to travel sustainably, and Miller Homes is brightening up pavements by making kids visible to drivers when walking, scooting, or cycling to and from school.
Louise Caldwell, sales director for Miller Homes Scotland West, hopes that Home Safe will continue to help primary children of all ages get to and from school safely as the seasons change.
She said: “Home Safe is now in its fourth year and it’s been great to see the difference we’ve made to the local communities near our development in East Ayrshire.
"Road visibility is crucial as the nights get darker, and we hope that by donating these vibrant vests, children will be safer on their school commute.”
