A new Mediterranean restaurant is set to open at the site of a vacant former bank building in Cumnock.
Officials from East Ayrshire Council approved an application last year to convert the former Clydesdale Bank premises in The Square into a restaurant.
The building had been vacant since the bank closed six years ago, but work has been ongoing over the past few weeks and months to completely transform it.
New owners Leisa Hall and partner Stevie Hooper-Sanders have now revealed they hope to have the new place open by the end of October.
Ms Hall revealed the Mediterranean theme in a post on Facebook inviting applications for front of house and kitchen staff for the business.
When we asked her for more detail, she said: "We are naming it The Clydesdale. [We] thought we would run with that as everyone would call it that anyway.
"We are opening at the end of October."
Mr Hooper-Sanders lodged a 'change of use' planning application for the building with council officers in October 2021, according to East Ayrshire Council records.
A planning report outlined the proposed change of the ground floor of the category B listed building.
Now, it seems like a the latest new eatery in Cumnock will not be too far away.
