A man and woman have been arrested and charged in Catrine after a quantity of cannabis was allegedly found.
Police executed two search warrants in the Newton Terrace area of Catrine yesterday morning (August 30), with police presence seen in the area for over 24 hours.
A quantity of cannabis was discovered in the property, with an estimated five-figure street value, along with a four-figure sum of cash.
Officers recovered a van, which had been stolen from the Kilwinning area, and evidence of a dismantled van, which had been stolen from Ayr’s Fulshaw Crescent. Items were also recovered linked to further thefts.
The man was arrested and charged in connection with several charges, including alleged vehicle theft, reset and drugs offences. The woman was arrested and charged in connection with alleged drugs offences.
The 38-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were expected to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Inspector Lynsey Arthur said: “I’d like to thank the local community for their patience and assistance, as officers continue their enquiries in the area.”
