Post Office services in three East Ayrshire villages are set to change.

A review of outreach and Mobile Post Office services has been undertaken after retail partners from Dalrymple Post Office were no longer able to run certain services.

Operating on behalf of Post Office, the Dalrymple store operated a mobile service for Rankinston, Kirkmichael, Drongan, Kirkoswald, Colmonell, Minishant, Dunure and Straiton.

However, these will all stop from Monday, July 31.

Instead, the postmaster for Dalmellington is willing to offer outreach services to the customers of Rankinston, Kirkmichael and Drongan.

The establishment of outreach services presents the "best possible solution" to maintain Post Office services to these communities.

Rankinston Post Office will operate from Rankinston Community Centre Hall, Littlemill Place, Rankinston, Ayr, KA6 7HB, on a Tuesday: 9.30 – 10.3am; Wednesday: 10 – 11am.

Kirkmichael Post Office will operate from McCosh Hall, 17 Patna Road, Kirkmichael, KA19 7PJ, on a Monday from 1.15 – 2.15pm.

Drongan Post Office will operate from Drongan Community Centre, 2 Coronation Road, Drongan, Ayr, KA6 7BZ, on a Tuesday from 11.45 am – 12.45pm.

To accommodate these additional outreaches, provided by the Postmaster for Dalmellington, there will be some changes to the current hours at Patna Outreach service.

It will now be available from 11am-1pm on a Tuesday, instead of previously being available on a Monday and Wednesday.

These changes also take effect from Monday, July 31.

The outreach services at Bellsbank and Carsphairn, currently provided by the postmaster for Dalmellington, will stop running from Monday, July 31, due to low customer usage, according to the Post Office.

At the moment, there are no place for alternative mobile services to be put in place for Kirkoswald, Colmonell, Minishant, Dunure and Straiton.
