A FLOOD alert has been issued for the whole of Ayrshire after weather forecasters warned of heavy rain in the area.
The flood warning, from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), comes after the Met Office issued a yellow 'be aware' warning across Ayrshire.
The Met Office warning is in place from 4pm today (Monday, July 10) until 6am on Tuesday.
SEPA's flood warning also kicks in on Monday afternoon and covers the whole of Ayrshire and Arran.
The environment body says that the heavy showers forecast for Monday afternoon and evening may cause surface water flooding and flooding from small watercourses.
The flood warning is in effect until "further notice", according to SEPA.
The warning adds: "In areas affected by the heaviest rainfall, impacts may include localised flooding of properties and disruption to travel, particularly if the heaviest rain falls over built up areas prone to flooding or over the transport network.
"Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
"Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188."
