Plans have been lodged to build a new three-bedroom home on vacant land near Cumnock.
The application from JKM Consultancy would see the new home be built on land near Boreland Mill, on the outskirts of the town.
Two parking spaces are also included in the plans.
The application is due to expire on Tuesday, July 11.
A design statement attached with the application said: "A new house is proposed as per attached drawings which seeks to illustrate how the house would sit on the site and within the landscape.
"The external finishes are entirely to suit the design guidance of natural slate, wet dash render and sash and case appearance windows. Stone features are also proposed to break up the render.
"We intend to utilise the adopted road that fronts the plot as well as meet sightlines required as illustrated.
"The proposed location is poor grazing ground and uses the end of the field whilst the existing levels sit lower than the adopted road.
"Given the above we don’t believe there will be any significant impact on landscape or visual amenity.
"We have illustrated the surrounding buildings within the submitted cluster plan and would highlight that there are three distinct houses within the block containing Shandon, Camden and the original Boreland Mill.
"These, together with Watermill, create a cluster in our view and the potential addition of the proposed house enhances the grouping.
"We believe the above justifies this site for residential use."
