Cumnock Juniors have appointed their new manager after the exit of Brian McGinty due to health reasons.
McGinty oversaw Cumnock's Scottish Junior Cup earlier this month as his side defeated Rutherglen Glencairn 1-0 in the final - but only a week later announced he was leaving, citing health reasons, with assistant Stevie Aitchison also taking the Townhead Park exit door.
The club have now confirmed that McGinty will be replaced by former St Cadoc's boss John Doyle, with ex Arthurlie manager Craig Palmer also moving to Townhead Park as Doyle's assistant.
The duo worked together at the East Renfrewshire club last season, leading their charge towards promotion into the West of Scotland Football League's top flight before Doyle was surprisingly "relieved of his duties" on May 7.
Palmer remained on board until the end of the campaign as promotion to the top flight was eventually secured, with the team just missing out on the First Division championship by one point to title-winners Gartcairn.
An online Cumnock social media post said: "We are delighted to announce John Doyle as our new Manager.
"John will be assisted by Craig Palmer. Welcome to Cumnock Juniors."
Doyle had been in charge at 'the Cads' since January 2022, with Palmer joining him as assistant at the club – who groundshare with Benburb at New Tinto Park in Govan – for the final few months of the season after stepping down as manager of Arthurlie in February.
