THERE were plenty of smiles on faces in Kirkconnel and Kelloholm on Saturday as the annual children's gala parade returned to the streets of the village.
The event took place on Saturday, June 17, and had all sorts of entertainment on show for visitors.
Pipe bands, face painting, inflatables and sideshows were the order of the day at the parade, where lorries filled with fancy dress entertainment were judged, as well as the crowning of the Gala Queen, Kiera MacDougall.
The winners of the lorry parade were Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Kelloholm Girlguiding and Beavers Visit Space.
