A CALL has gone out for volunteers to help keep New Cumnock's community garden in tip-top condition.
Helpers don't need to have previous experience of gardening to be able to lend a hand - just a desire to help keep New Cumnock clean, green and vibrant and a place to enjoy, although you do need to be willing to work in variable weather conditions.
The New Cumnock Development Trust (NCDT), which runs the project, says volunteers will have access to the project's plots and greenhouses, while the garden team will provide safety inductions and access to gardening equipment and tools.
Helpers will learn basic garden and maintenance skills as well as other inter-personal, team working and practical skills.
A spokesperson said: "No experience is necessary - come along and see if you like it.
"Our volunteers work varied days and times during the week.
"NCCG can provide gloves etc as well as a good cuppa at break time.
"You'll have the opportunity to be involved (should you wish) in wider community events."
