A MAN from New Cumnock has been convicted of a series of horrific rapes and sexual assaults.
Ryan Deakin, 27, was found guilty by a jury of seven different charges in relation to offences committed against three different women - one who was aged just 15 at the time - and one man.
Jurors at the High Court in Lanark found the accused guilty by majority of one charge which states assaulted a woman at an address in Stevenston, North Ayrshire, on various occasions between September 13, 2019 and January 10, 2020.
He also seized her by the body, pushed and pulled her, pinned her down and placed his arm across her neck before removing her lower clothing, carrying her and then raping her.
The jury also found Deakin guilty by majority of a futher charge of raping the same woman, after he had removed her lower clothing and held her down, at another ardress in Stevenston on March 3, 2020.
He was convicted by a majority on a third charge, this time of abducting her at an address in Kilmarnock and hiding her mobile phone.
Deakin then assaulted the woman, grabbed her and carried her to the bedroom of the property while she struggled with him.
He went on to throw her on to the bed and hold her down before removing her lower clothing and raping her to her injury.
The jury returned a majority guilty verdict on a fourth charge relating to an incident in a car in Glasgow involving a different woman in March 2020.
They convicted him of sexually assaulting the woman by repeatedly touching and rubbing her leg, before reaching inside her lower clothing and touching her private parts.
Deakin was also found guilty by a majority verdict of a fifth charge involving the second woman, this time of sexually assaulting her at an address in Stevenston by placing his arms around her and touching her back and bottom.
A sixth charge - on which the jury unanimously found him guilty - took place in a car parked at an unknown location between Kilmarnock and Auchinleck between March 1 and April 6, 2020 and involved a girl who was just 15 at the time.
Deakin was convicted of sexually assaulting his victim by trying to kiss her, grabbing her body, pulling her towards him and kissing her on the mouth - all after supplying her with alcohol.
The jury's final guilty verdict related to an offence at an address in Stevenston on March 22, 2021 in which Deakin sexually assaulted a man after repeatedly pulling down his clothing to expose himself and following his victim to the bathroom.
At the time of the last offence Deakin was the subject of bail orders granted by courts in Kilmarnock and Dumfries in September and October of 2020 respectively.
Sentencing was deferred until next month and Deakin was remanded in custody.
