A DAYTIME road closure has been put in place on a busy road between Mauchline and Ayr for the next three weeks.
The B743 road will undergo essential resurfacing work on part of the road just outside of Mossblown, close to Auchincruive.
Work started on Monday at around 8am, and is set to last until May 22, although the order has a maximum duration of 18 months.
The road is expected to be closed between 8am and 5pm each day, with it being open out-with these times.
Days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Drivers from Mauchline towards Ayr under 4.2 metres can take the B742 road from Mossblown towards the Sandyford Toll Roundabout and on towards the Whitletts Roundabout.
Drivers of vehicle over 4.2 metres will take the B744 road before Mossblown towards Tarbloton, and carrying on the B730 before turning left onto the A719 towards the Sandyford Toll Roundabout.
Drivers from Ayr towards Mauchline can use the same diversion in the opposite direction.
More information is available on the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website.
