Plans for an extension to a proposed wind farm near New Cumnock have been recommended for approval by East Ayrshire Council.
The plans, submitted by Bank Renewables, would see an additional 10 wind turbines proposed for a site close to the previously consented Lethans wind farm.
The proposed development consists of up to 10 wind turbines with tip heights ranging from between 235 m and 251 m, with an operational life of 30 years.
This development is an extension to the as-yet-unbuilt Lethans wind farm, consented by the Scottish Ministers in a decision of June 18, 2020.
Going up for debate at East Ayrshire Council's planning committee on Friday, April 21, the further 10 turbines would be in addition to the 22 already approved.
A planning statement for the application reads: "The proposed development will bring about significant social and economic benefits in terms of employment, investment and local supply chain opportunities.
"The provision of a community benefits fund is fully in alignment with the Scottish Government’s aim of securing a just transition to net zero."
