A FIRM based near Cumnock has tapped into a Scottish Government initiative to give graduates better employment opportunities.
Compliance LEV, which manufactures, repairs and tests 'local exhaust ventilation' (LEV) systems and is based in Skares, has appointed a new graduate to its team as a marketing intern under the Graduate Career Advantage Scotland (GCAS) programme.
Adrian Tung, 28, holds a master’s degree in international marketing from the University of Strathclyde.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between employers and talented graduates in Scotland by helping to ease the transition into valuable work experience.
Compliance LEV, which helps manufacturers cut costs, dramatically reduce energy usage and improve health in the workplace, is on target to achieve a remarkable 90% growth rate in the 12 months to June this year.
Its recent growth has been catalysed by Compliance LEV’s development of a revolutionary Oil Mist Solution for CNC machines such as drills, lathes, mills and grinders which cuts power consumption by between 47 and 68 per cent.
Delighted about his new role, Adrian said: “I am thrilled to be joining Compliance LEV, and excited to be part of a dynamic and fast-growing company.
"I look forward to contributing to its continued success."
Founded in 2017, the company has specialised for the last six years in testing and maintaining LEV systems to make sure they comply with the law.
As well as extraction for the metalworking industry, it deals with wood dust, titanium dust, chemicals, respirable crystalline silica, soldering, organic and weld fumes.
It works with some of the UK’s largest engineering and pharmaceutical companies and also has clients in sectors as diverse as food production, paper manufacturing, quarrying and aerospace.
Founder Kevin Simmonds said: “We are pleased to have Adrian join our team where he will have the opportunity to develop essential skills in communication, leadership, and project management.
“With Adrian's education and experience in international marketing, he is well-equipped to assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies that will enhance the company's brand awareness, increase sales, and ultimately drive growth.
“In addition, Adrian will gain practical experience in marketing, developing skills that are vital to his career, and will contribute, we believe, to the success of our overall marketing approach.”
