People in New Cumnock who have been affected by flooding are being asked to share their experiences.
The village has had a history of severe flooding in the past, most recently back in 2015 when homes were damaged, roads were closed and buildings were damaged.
Now, the National Flood Forum are joining forces with the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) to create an exhibition highlighting people's experience of flooding - and they want people from New Cumnock to get involved.
The exhibition will take place as part of the Flood & Coast Conference at Telford International Centre in June 2023.
People from New Cumnock, and the surrounding areas, who have been affected by flooding are being asked to share artwork, poetry, photographs that show their experiences of being impacted by floods.
There may also be the opportunity to attend the event and give your personal experience of flooding.
Tracey Garrett, chief executive of the National Flood Forum, said: “We would like to increase understanding between the industry and those who flood and putting this exhibition of flooded people’s experiences into the Flood and Coast Conference, gives a chance to do just that.’’

Work on New Cumnock's £8.97 million flood protection scheme began in May 2021.
It includes 1,170 metres of flood defence concrete walls, 1,000 metres of flood defence embankments, 740 metres of rock armour and 2,000 metres of filter drains, along with 4,500 square metres of new access roads and car parking.
Roadworks are still in place in connection with the scheme.
