Temporary traffic lights will be set up on a Cumnock street from tomorrow until next week.
CCTV survey work and sewer line cleaning will take place along New Bridge Street, with traffic management being in place during the project.
The work is due to last until Thursday, April 6.
Temporary lights will in place from around 8am-4pm each day, and will be removed at the end of works each day.
A temporary pedestrian crossing will also be in place.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "From Wednesday 29 March, Scottish Water’s contractor Clancy will carry out some CCTV survey work and sewer line cleaning in New Bridge Street, Cumnock until around Thursday 6 April.
"Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in operation to allow these works on a 380metre stretch of sewer pipe to be carried out safely. They will be controlled manually to help keep the traffic moving. A temporary pedestrian crossing will also be in operation.
"As no excavation work is required, the road traffic management will be removed each evening to help minimise disruption for road users and the local community.
"All road traffic management has been agreed in conjunction with Ayrshire Roads Alliance. Road users are urged to leave more time for travel, and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding."
