A derelict building caught fire in New Cumnock last night, causing the road to close while emergency services attended the incident.
At around 8.30pm last night (Thursday, March 23), witnesses saw smoke coming from the back of a supposedly derelict building on the corner of Castle and Pathhead.
Fire crews rushed to the scene to put out the flames.
The smoke and flames could be seen from right across New Cumnock and beyond.
The road around the building was closed while the fire was tackled, but it was re-opened earlier this morning.
Fire fighters and police officers were spotted at the scene early today to ensure the fire was dealt with properly.
It's not yet known what caused the fire, but nobody has been hurt as a result.
