A Mauchline road closure leading out of the town has a maximum duration placed on it for 18 months.
A road traffic order on the Tell Me Scotland website says that the closure along Barskimming Bridge will hopefully last until next month.
However, there is a maximum duration of 18 months placed on the road, according to the official regulation.

It says that "the days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed."
It adds: "The Order commences on 20 March 2023 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier.
"The works are expected to commence from 20 March 2023 at 08:00 with the closure remaining in place until 03 April 2023 at 16:00."
Currently, a 12-mile diversion is in place to cover the section of the road closure.
Due to the nature of these works Emergency Services and access for residents will be via diversion route only.
Deliveries and pedestrians’ access outwith the working zone will be maintained.
