Three further arrests have been made after a series of incidents in Auchinleck.
The total number of arrests now stands at four, all males - a 16-year-old and three aged 17.
Police were spotted in various locations in Auchinleck on Wednesday, including the Tesco car park, across from Bridgend Garage and the nearby wooded area.
A 17-year-old male was initially arrested, but police continued their search.
The males have been arrested in connection with reports of a number of break-ins and thefts around the area.
Locals had voiced their concerns on social media regarding alleged attempted break-ins at homes in the area.
A helicopter could also be seen flying over Auchinleck and parts of Cumnock after the initial arrest.
The four males are due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court tomorrow.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Four male youths, a 16-year-old and three aged 17, have been arrested and charged in connection with reports of break-ins and thefts in the Auchinleck area on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
“They are due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Friday, March 3, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
