A BRAND new community larder has opened in Catrine, with lots more on offer.
Operated by the Catrine Community Trust (CCT), the larder is open at the A.M. Brown Institute in the village every Tuesday from 2.30-4.30pm, and again each Thursday, this time from 5.30-7pm.
The Institute has seen several new classes starting, including yoga with Carlo on a Monday at 6.30pm, sound bath therapy on a Wednesday (fortnightly), crafting with Lorraine on a Thursday (fortnightly) and ‘knit and natter on a Wednesday at 10am.
These new classes are being provided free of charge to participants, with financial help from the East Ayrshire CVO’s mental health and wellbeing fund.
The Institute’s community library, Take a Book, Swap a Book! ,will be open in conjunction with the new community larder on Tuesdays.
The team behind the library initiative are currently working to source more children’s books. If you have any pre-loved books you’d like to donate, send a message to the ‘Catrine Community Trust’ page on Facebook for more information.
Meanwhile, this Saturday, March 4, the doors of the Institute will be open for a table sale, from 10am-2pm with a great selection of stalls – while there will also be free hot drinks and cake.
And the busy events calendar at the Institute continues on Friday, March 10 when the
CCT will be hosting a daffodil tea from 12noon-2pm.
This event is free to attend, with an optional donation to Marie Curie.
