Netherthird Primary School pupils and staff enjoyed their first official day at their brand new school on Monday.
The project to build the new school started in September 2021, with pupils initially set to move into the new school on October 27, 2022.
But that date was pushed back more than once due to problems completing the new building.
The good news was announced last month that the opening date had officially been set for today.
Netherthird Primary School staff had been working hard to move from their temporary home at the former Greenmill Primary building in Cumnock.
Pupils were granted an exceptional extension to their February break, so that staff could get the new building ready for opening day.
Their hard work certainly paid off, with pupils being piped into their new school by members of the EPIC pipe band.
Jemma Donnelly, Netherthird's head teacher, said: "The day has finally arrived for our children and staff to start at our wonderful new school.
"I am overjoyed at our school being back in the heart of our community and look forward to working alongside our partners and friends again.
"It has been an emotional journey but it is all worth it to see the look on our children’s faces when they will walk through the doors to their new school for the first time.
"It is an honour and privilege to lead Netherthird Primary School and ECC. I can’t wait to see where the next part of our journey takes us to."
Netherthird PS & ECC's Twitter page has been sharing loads of fun pictures from their first day in the new school.
