TWO Cumnock men have been accused of committing a serious assault at a popular venue in the town that left a man scarred for life.
Ian Brown, 27, and Arron Muir, 26 allegedly assaulted a man at the Cumnock Juniors Social Club in Townhead Street on December 18, 2021.
The Crown claims that Brown and Muir, of Dalhanna Avenue and Walker Court in Cumnock respectively, repeatedly punched the man to the head in the incident.
The charge alleges the complainer was also kicked to the head in the attack, to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and impairment.
It’s claimed that Brown and Muir were also involved in an assault on a second man, with this charge stating he was punched in the head.
The accused, who were represented by defence solicitors Robert Logan and John Gallagher respectively, pleaded not guilty to the charges when the case called last week.
They will return to Ayr Sheriff Court at a later date.
