TRAINS via Auchinleck and New Cumnock are being disrupted as heavy rain sweeps across large parts of Scotland.
ScotRail says services between Glasgow Central and Carlisle, via Kilmarnock and Dumfries, are subject to delays after a temporary speed restriction was introduced on the line.
The company says that disruption is expected to continue until the end of service on Friday, December 30 and that trains calling at Kilmarnock, Auchinleck, New Cumnock, Sanquhar and Kirkconnel may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
The company also says that replacement buses have not yet been requested, and that ticket acceptance is not yet in place on local bus routes, but that “we will monitor this situation as the incident develops”.
A Met Office yellow ‘be aware’ warning for heavy rain is in place across central and southern Scotland until 2pm on Friday.
An amber warning (‘be prepared’) is also in place across parts of Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders until 12 noon on Friday.
