Ayrshire has been hit with a yellow warning for snow and ice today (December 16) and over the weekend.
The Met Office say that some disruption to travel could be expected, with the warning in force until 9pm tonight.
Sunday will also see a yellow warning, from the early hours of the morning until 9pm. No warning is currently in place for Saturday.
The warning says: "There is a chance that bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times, especially during the morning peak travel period.
"There is a fair chance of some travel delays on roads, plus a smaller chance of stranded vehicles and passengers in some areas, particularly over high ground during the morning.
"There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
"A chance that untreated pavements and cycle paths are icy, increasing the likelihood of accidents and injuries."
Once we battle through the latest icy weather this weekend, some elements of normality will return next week, with some regions of Ayrshire seeing temperatures as high as 13 degrees on Monday, with no temperatures set to drop below five degrees.
The Met Office website has a range of tips and information about how to deal with the weather.
