Scottish Water have said that repairs to a burst pipe in Cumnock have now been completed.
Residents have been experiencing interruptions to their supply since Sunday because of a frozen valve.
Workers had been on-site today to repair the issues.
Cumnock's Town Hall was also opened by East Ayrshire Council to provide a warm space for any affected by the issues.
Logan Primary and Early Childhood Centre is also closed to water supply issues.
Scottish Water updated Cumnock residents to let them know that repairs were complete, but a full restoration of the water supply could take a few hours.
A spokesperson said: "Repairs to a burst water pipe which caused the interruption to water supplies for customers in Cumnock have been completed.
The water supply will gradually come in to service for customers during this period. Due to the nature of this issue, in order to protect the Network, we are slowly recharging the main. Supplies should be restored over the next few hours
While the supply is being restored please be aware that you may experience no water supply, low / intermittent pressure or discoloured water.
